How To Easy Root the Nexus S 4G

I. Before you begin.

1. You must have adb installed. If you do not, head over to our how to here.

II. Rooting the Nexus S 4G.


1. Download the rooted ROM from here and place on your desktop (leave as a zip file, do not extract).
2. Download the Clockwork Mod Recovery image from here and place in your adb/tools folder.
3. Plug your device in with the usb cable.
4. On your computer, click on the Start menu.
5. In the search box in the start menu, type cmd and hit enter.
6. When the command prompt window opens, you must navigate to the folder adb is in. Type the following with hitting enter at the end of the line:
cd C:\androidsdk\tools
7. In the command prompt window, type the following commands, hitting enter after each line.
adb reboot bootloader
8. Once it reboots into bootloader, type the following commands, hitting enter after each line.
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
9. Still in the bootloader menu, navigate to the recovery option and select it.
10. In recovery, navigate to the mounts and storage option and select it.
11. In the mounts and storage section, choose mount usb sdcard.
12. Place the GRJ90ODEX.zip stock rooted ROM on your sd card.
13. Navigate to unmount and select it, then choose go back.
14. Once back at the main menu, navigate to the install zip from sdcard option and select it.
15. Select choose zip from sdcard.
16. Select the previous file: GRJ90ODEX.zip
17. Once completely flashed, select reboot system now.
